Fawlty Towers is a British sitcom made by the BBC and first broadcast on BBC2 in 1975. Only twelve episodes were ever produced, but the series has had a lasting and powerful influence on later shows. The series was written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, both of whom played main characters, and was broadcast in two series: the first, in 1975, was produced and directed by John Howard …

    Sybil: “Can I help?”
Basil: “Yes, go and kill yourself!”

He would save himself so much trouble by just admitting certain things… “I’m sorry, our chef is temporarily unavilable tonight, here is the new temporary menu for tonight” instead of trying to cover absolutely everything up.

The outside shots of Andre’s restaurant were actually filmed in Preston Road in Wembley . . . the classic “damned good thrashing” scene was filmed a mile or so away in Mentmore Close in Harrow. Both were about 200 miles away from Torquay!

Cleese looks so 100% inbred and retarded!
BTW Benny Hill was considered funnier than Monty Python by a UHF station that ran both (WLVI TV Channel 56 in Cambridge, Mass was the station). I agree!!!

At the end, Basil’s “duck’s off, sorry” had me in fits (Y)

I think they do this on purpose, jsut to see if people notice, like if its set in the evening, they’ll film in daylight for a luagh..
